An Example of Crime Stoppers at Work
Crime Stoppers received anonymous information which led to the apprehension of 5 suspects involved in the vandalism of Menominee High School. Tips were received by phone to Crime Stoppers as well as a few Text-a-Tip’s. Text-a-Tip allows communication back and forth between law enforcement and the tipster in real time and anonymously. This allowed the officers to obtain more detailed information.
Using Text-a-Tip, Citizens can text “MARINETTE” to “274637” (CRIMES) along with the crime information. Citizens can also call Crime Stoppers 1-800-427-5857 or 715-735-5111 OR go to www.tipsubmit.com. Crime Stoppers is a joint effort between the communities of Marinette County, WI and Menominee County, MI. The Crime Stoppers program provides a means for citizens to anonymously share information to help solve crimes without the fear of retribution. Crime Stoppers empowers citizens to help keep their communities safe!
